It’s always a bit extra lovely when I’m going to cover a wedding for families that I’ve already met at previous weddings…

Shottle Hall is one of those venues that works in any weather at any time of year, but wherever I visit, autumn is always a favourite time of mine for photography.

We had a great time shooting the new Elizabeth Malcolm bridalwear range at the wonderful Blackbrook House, it just happened to be one of the hottest days of summer, too!

Georgia & Martin were such a cool couple to work with! Both Download-festival regulars and full-on rockers. My main brief for the day was that there were to be no cheesy smiley shots and I just about managed to stick to that!

I’m a big fan of the Pumping House wedding venue at Ollerton. As its name suggests, it’s an old, well, pumping house. It’s a stunning Victorian-style building, and the interiors have been impeccably styled to give it a new lease of life in its retirement.

Olivia & Zack are an awesome fun, stylish couple! I first met them quite a few years ago at Olivia’s sister’s wedding at Kedleston Hall, and I got on really well with them and all their families right away. So I was really pleased when they got in touch to arrange their own wedding photography!

I’ve been a Horsely Lodge wedding photographer for over 20 years now and I still love every return visit! I always love to be working somewhere that gives me awesome backdrops and I make sure to use the beautiful countryside at Horsley to the maximum every time.

I don’t get the chance to visit the lovely Dovecliff Hall too often so it was a bit of a treat to spend the day there with Danielle and Carl and their families in summer.

Sarah at Weaveknitit (We’ve Knit It, yes you got it) is an awesome creative character! She’s a master spinner, and teaches lots of classes.

A short while back Sarah took over a beautiful shop space in the fabulous Cromford Mill. Since then she’s expanded her business into stocking loads of local artisan produced products and crafts.

Kate & Jon were a super cool couple, (well I suppose they probably still are!) really organised and on the case all the way through the organising process.

I had such a wonderful time with Emily & Nathaniel (everybody calls him ‘Nat’) on their wedding day! I think they probably just about qualify as my most laid back couple of the year.

Derby’s not a bad little old city, you know. I’ve lived within 20 minutes of Derby all my life, but whenever I’m talking to people about this area, I always seem to mention that I’m lucky to only be 25 minutes from the Derbyshire Peak District and all the lovely venues there.

I’m also really lucky to be just 20 minutes down the road from one of the foremost industrial wedding venues in the country, the fabulous West Mill, Derby.
