Wedding photography at the West Mill, Derby – Emma & Chris

Derby’s not a bad little old city, you know. I’ve lived within 20 minutes of Derby all my life, but whenever I’m talking to people about this area, I always seem to mention that I’m lucky to only be 25 minutes from the Derbyshire Peak District and all the lovely venues there.

I’m also really lucky to be just 20 minutes down the road from one of the foremost industrial wedding venues in the country, the fabulous West Mill, Derby.

I’ve made several visits to the West Mill, my first one being just a few months after they opened following the massive refurbishment they carried out. It’s such a super stylish wedding venue, set over four floors, with tons of authentic features everywhere.

My particular favourite feature is the wedding cake display area – it is always set up on display next to the old cigarette machine!

The wedding co-ordinators there are first-rate, they’re hands-on when they need to be, and busy working away in the background during the parts of the day when I’m busy with the wedding crowd. How they keep up the pace is beyond me!

Here are a few of my faves from Emma & Chris’s big day …
