River Mill wedding photography, Derby

Wedding photography at the River Mill Venue, Derby.

Darley Abbey Mills is part of the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage site. That’s posh-speak for historic and awesome :)

Originally built in the 1700s, it was once one home to some of the largest cotton mills in the world. Today, it has been transformed into a super cool commercial and residential area, home to two of my fave venues The West Mill and The River Mill. The distinctive red brick architecture of the mill buildings has been carefully preserved, providing a unique backdrop for some ace photographs. The River Derwent runs through the site.

The River Mill Wedding Venue is one of Derby’s newest! It’s housed in a converted mill building with serious rustic charm, an open floor plan, and exposed brickwork and ironwork that adds to the overall ambiance. It’s an ideal wedding venue for parties of around 40-60 people, although it can accommodate many more than that in the evening.

Check out a few early shots from the River Mill - if you’d like to see more, I promise I’ll be shooting more soon!
