Wedding photography at The Farmhouse & Folly, Mackworth - Abbie & Josh

The Farmhouse & Folly is a venue I’ve visited for many years. In fact, it’s where I shot my first civil ceremony when it became legal to marry anywhere, not just in church. Needless to say, that’s a very, VERY long time ago!

Abbie & Josh were such a supercool and lovely couple, proper trendy and hip festival-goers, so laid back, and happy to go with the flow of the day and enjoy themselves. I think that shows through in the shots, especially with those cool shades – a pair of which were on the tables for everybody!

The weather did its best to ruin our outdoor plans but things cleared up just in time. Despite not wandering from the path we got some lovely shots, and it just forced me to be a bit more creative with the trees by the pathway.

Here are some of my favourite shots…

The couple opted for a mixture of photography styles with the emphasis on an informal feel, lots of documentary-style shots but with some more ‘official’ arranged shots thrown in too. It’s a really popular wedding photography approach that aims to get something to please everybody.

Congratulations Abbie & Josh, it was a pleasure spending the day with you!
