Wedding photography at Breadsall Priory – Katy & Chris

Ah the month of March… Great if you love ‘interesting’ weather! Katy & Chris’s day certainly had plenty of weather, I counted five snowstorms through the afternoon, in between which the sun shone gloriously.

We made the most of those sunny intervals, but Katy wanted to try for a few snowy shots too. Now it’s not very often that the weather surprises me, but we did get a bit caught out once by the most sudden snow flurry I’ve ever experienced. Luckily we were only a few yards from the entrance to the hotel, Katy was super brave, and we grabbed what ended up being everybody’s favourite shot of the day!

I’ve been a wedding photographer at Breadsall Priory for over 25 years now. It’s a stunning old Priory building less than 10 minutes from the centre of Derby, and was for a while the home of Erasmus Darwin. There are acres of landscaped grounds and a beautiful ornamental lake and fountain. It’s also got lots of beautiful interiors which we made the most of on Chris & Katy’s day! Here are some of my fave shots.
