An outdoor wedding shoot at Shottle Hall. Shot inside.

From the first idea to actually getting this photo session done took a little over 10 months. It was originally thought to be a late-spring or early summer project but thanks to Covid finally ended up getting shot in September.

The new outdoor ceremony lawn at Shottle Hall has the most wonderful views over the valley so it was decided that we should show it off in all of its glory. So after 9 months of waiting, the date was set, everybody was prepared, the weather all week running up to it was just beautiful. Then, of course, on the day itself the heavens well and truly opened, I mean, like, almost biblical style rains from the moment we were due to set up until about an hour after we finished.

The main requirement was to show off the amazing backdrop arch and Denise from Funky Florists was a TOTAL star and managed to get it beautifully decorated while working in the pouring rain.

Thank you to musician Emily White for holding the umbrella to keep the camera dry on these shots. After this we played inside 🙂

I always like to get a couple of prep shots so spent a little time with makeup artist Sophie Downing and hairdresser Rosie Moore.

Jo from Iced & Spliced and Denise put together a beautiful impromptu backdrop at short notice in the Orangery at Shottle Hall, Rosie from Mimi Toko dressed our models, and we were away!

Check out some of my fave shots below and all of the talented folks that made these images look perfect…
